Falmouth Oyster Festival organisers are delighted to announce once again, St Michael’s Hotel and Spa, as major sponsor of this year’s festival, which takes place from 12 to 15 October 2017.
One of Falmouth’s best luxury four-star hotels, St Michael’s Hotel and Spa has supported the festival for a number of years and is a major contributor to its continuing success. Nigel Carpenter, Proprietor, St Michael’s Hotel and Spa said ““St Michael’s is delighted to continue to sponsor the festival for its 21st anniversary year. The festival continues to bring a great audience of food and culture enthusiasts to Falmouth, which highlights the heritage, depth and diversity of this great town.”
St Michael’s Hotel & Spa is transforming with a £6 million development programme due for completion at the end of 2017. The planned development will further strengthen St Michael’s position as one of the leading hotels in the South West, adding 32 premium hotel bedrooms and suites, many with balconies and breath-taking sea or garden views. The hotel’s new state of the art Health Club opened this month. The 3 story ‘urban style’ gym includes an extensive gym, featuring best in class equipment throughout, 3 studios dedicated to spinning, holistic and fitness classes and a unique gig rowing studio, which embraces one of the most popular sports in the South West.
There is a large 17m indoor pool, with sauna, steam room and experience showers. The St Michaels Spa is also located in the heart of the new health club, enabling convenient access to a wide range of treatments for both members and guests. Later in the year a new destination spa will open, featuring 10 treatment rooms, a Turkish Hamam, large hydrotherapy pool, relaxation zones, a champagne nail bar and spa café.
Commenting on their sponsor’s support, Mike Rangecroft, Festival Director said, “All successful festivals need to be able to rely on their main sponsor. To that end St Michael’s Hotel and Spa have proved over the years to be a great supporter of the festival. We thank them and their team for their continued involvement.”
At the Festival, St Michael’s Hotel and Spa will run the Oyster and Seafood Bar in the main marquee offering a range of locally sourced seafood dishes and freshly shucked oysters for visitors. At the helm will be St Michael’s Head Chef, sharing their culinary secrets and love of Cornish seafood and fresh produce at Saturday afternoon’s chef demonstration.
