How to Run a Tall Ships Event on a Budget

Tall Ships events are typically funded with cash and in-kind support from a variety of sources, including the city, the port authority and business sponsors.  But how do you allocate funds across the project to deliver a successful event that meets the expectations of the stakeholders?

Sam Groom shared her expertise on running Tall Ships events at the annual Sail Training International Tall Ships Conference, held in a cold and snowy Quebec at the end of January.

Her presentation on budget planning, demonstrated how an extremely successful event can be delivered on a relatively modest budget and was attended by future host ports from across the world, who gathered in the magnificent Le Chateau Frontenac for the three day event.
