Falmouth Oyster Festival

The Brief

One of Cornwall’s biggest and best loved specialist food festivals, Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the native Fal Oyster and the diversity of Cornish seafood, with four days of feasting, cooking demos, live music and craft stalls. The Port of Truro Oyster Fishery is the only remaining oyster fishery in Europe, if not the world, where traditional methods of sail power and hand-pulled dredges must be used and this fascinating industry, which plays a large part in Falmouth’s industry and heritage, is celebrated in style.
